Privacy & cookies

How sauvachi.com handles cookies, consent, analytics and advertising.
The short version
You can browse and listen without giving us anything. We ask for your name and email only if you choose to subscribe, and the tracking that isn't strictly necessary is off until you say otherwise.
What we store on your device
The player keeps a small amount of state in your browser's local storage so it can behave like an app rather than a page. It never leaves your device:
- your saved tracks, queue and last playback position
- volume, repeat and shuffle settings
- recently played releases
- your light/dark theme choice
- your answer to the consent message, so we stop asking
Any downloads you make for offline listening are cached by the app's service worker, again only on your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it, including your consent choice — which means you'll be asked again on your next visit.
The email list
If you use the subscribe form, the email address you type is sent — a name is optional, and only stored if you give one — to this site's own server and stored so we can email you about new releases. Nothing else from the form is collected, and we don't sell or share the list.
Advertising and measurement
This site uses Google for advertising and traffic measurement. Depending on what you consent to, Google may store and read cookies on your device, count visits and plays, and use your data to choose which ads you see. Your consent is passed to Google's tags directly (Consent Mode), so declining a purpose changes what they are permitted to do — it isn't just recorded on our side.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or to other sites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads or myadcenter.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Opting out does not remove ads; it removes the personalisation.
How Google uses data from sites that use its services
Ads appear in a few fixed places: between sections on some pages, inside longer posts, and — while you're listening in the browser player — as an occasional card above the playback bar. That card never stops, pauses or quietens your music; it appears beside it, closes itself after a few seconds, and you can dismiss it. Nothing on this site is ever withheld until you have looked at an ad. If you decline the advertising purposes above you'll still see ads, but non-personalised ones chosen without using your data.
There are no ads on this page, and none in the press kit.
What you're consenting to, purpose by purpose
These are the exact groups shown in the consent message:
- Playback & preferences (always on)
- Remembers your saved tracks, queue, volume and where you left off. Stored on your device only — never shared. Required for the player to work.
- Audience measurement
- Counts visits and plays so we know which releases people actually listen to. Aggregated statistics, not profiles.
- Recommendations
- Uses your listening history to order what you see — recently played, suggested releases and playlists.
- Advertising
- Lets Google and its ad partners store and read cookies on this device to serve ads and measure their performance.
- Personalised advertising
- Uses your data to build a profile and pick ads based on your interests. Decline and you still see ads, just untargeted ones.
Embedded video
Release pages can embed YouTube videos. We use YouTube's no-cookie domain, so YouTube doesn't set advertising cookies unless you press play — at which point YouTube's own privacy terms apply to that playback.
Changing your mind
Open privacy settings — from the button above or the link in the footer — and change any toggle. It takes effect immediately and applies to Google's tags too. Withdrawal is as easy as consenting, by design. We ask again from scratch after about 13 months, or sooner if what we do with data changes.
