About “To Kojayi (Remix)”
The vocal is the original; essentially nothing under it is. This is a remix as a reading rather than a service — it disagrees with the original and asks an untouched vocal, in the same key at a tempo it wasn't written for, to carry the argument. The tempo shifts so phrases land differently, the chords imply something the original didn't, the arrangement stays sparse until it's dense exactly once, and the ending doesn't resolve. Every problem had to be solved underneath a part that couldn't be changed.
