Tempo and key across the catalogue, measured
October 16, 2026 · sauvachi.com
27 of the 39 release pages on this site now carry a small table: the tempo and the key of each track, measured from the audio, 25 tempos and 18 keys in all. The rest show no table because nothing on them could be confirmed yet. This post is the method behind those numbers, and what they show when you line the whole catalogue up.
Why measure at all
Tempo and key are the two facts a DJ needs to blend one record into another, a remixer needs before opening a session, and a playlist curator uses to decide what sits next to what. The sites that list them for streaming tracks mostly read them from Spotify’s audio-features data, which Spotify closed to new developer apps in November 2024. For a record released since, there is usually nothing to look up. Most of this catalogue was released since.
How the numbers were taken
Fourteen recordings are hosted on this site in full, and those were measured from the complete track. Everything else was measured from the 30-second preview Apple Music serves for it, the same clip its “preview” button plays.
Each value was measured twice, by methods that share as little as possible. Tempo: once from a tempogram with a straight line fitted through every detected beat, once from the predominant pulse of the percussion alone. Key: once from a constant-Q chromagram scored against two classic key profiles, once from a long-window spectrogram scored against two different profiles. A tempo is published only when the two readings agree to within 3%, allowing for one being double the other (83.5 and 167 BPM are the same groove counted two ways), and a key only when both pipelines name the same one with a clear margin. A sped-up version also has to measure faster than its original, and a slowed one slower. Anything that fails is left as a dash rather than filled with a best guess.
Before any of it was trusted, the tempo method was run on three beats whose producers wrote the tempo into the file name. It returned exactly 107, 107 and 97 BPM, and C♯ minor for the two files labelled C♯ minor; on the third it declined to call a key with any confidence, which is the behaviour the publishing rule above depends on.
The home key is E♭ minor
Six of the eighteen confirmed keys are E♭ minor, Camelot 2A: MURDER (2021), FAKE LOVE (2025), I DO WRONG (2025), Горят желанием (Remix) (2026), THE SPLIT (2026) and f all (2026). The first record in the catalogue and the newest one are in the same key.
The catalogue leans minor almost completely: seventeen of the eighteen confirmed keys are minor keys. In mixing terms, the confirmed records one step from 2A on the Camelot wheel are Autumn Leaves (B♭ minor, 3A) and Wrong (A♭ minor, 1A), so they blend into the E♭ minor group without a key clash.
Two speeds
The confirmed tempos fall into two lanes. Seven sit under 100 BPM (f all, PERC SAVAGE, TIME GO, 4 BRICKS DOWN (feat. Augxst & NST), MORE, Cool Kids and mont blanc), and all seven also read at double time, which is how a DJ would count them against a faster record. Nine sit at 140 BPM or above: THE SPLIT, money gene, Горят желанием (Remix), Can't Complain, Wrong, Ghost Town, LIKE DBE, HULKS and Perkin Often. Only six land in between: KATANA, FLICKY, I DO WRONG, MISTAKES (feat. MJ 4hunna), CARBON and Trance. (Those counts take each song once: the sped-up and slowed versions, and a recording issued on two releases, are in the table below but not in the lanes.)
Every confirmed value
Newest release first. A dash means the two methods did not agree, not that the value is unknowable: the recording itself has an answer, and the session files know it exactly.

What these numbers are, and are not
They are measurements of the finished recordings, not readings of the sessions they came from. A project file set to 167 BPM and a track that measures 83.5 are the same thing: the measurement reports the pulse it hears most strongly, and the double- or half-time figure next to it is there for exactly that reason. Previews are a 30-second window, so a track that changes key or tempo partway through will show whatever its preview contains. Where a value here disagrees with the session, the session is right, and the table on the release page will be corrected.
